Job profile
The opportunity will be to provide technical leadership in developing an embedded system called as Home Dashboard (HD), which is a wall mounted touch screen based device and will be used for monitoring and managing the Home Area Network (HAN).
HD is the central system around which all the home network sensor elements like Smart Meter, Smart Appliances, Thermostat, Lighting sensors and Entertainment unites controller sensor to control TV, Music System, Home Theater etc will reside. These home network elements will be connected via radio network protocol like ZigBee, WiFI, 6LowPan etc..
Applications which are developed for HD will be such as Energy Consumption monitor, Forecast next month energy consumption, HAN node Manager and viewer, Policy Rules Setup application, Weather forecast application etc,,
Aricent’s primarily responsibility is to design, integrate various partners’ components, develop the complete application suites (around 32 applications) in different phases and has the complete ownership to deliver the HD to the end customer.
The highlighted opportunities for this job assignment are as follows:
• Opportunity to travel USA, Europe and Australia to integrate the HD with service provider’s network elements once offshore development is done.
• Opportunity to technically Leading in a larger team by designing, developing and integrating multiple modules on the embedded system
• Opportunity to learn latest technology like Machine To Machine Communication, OpenHAN, OpenADR, Zigbee, 6LowPan
• To implement and develop low level design-code-test and test tools as required for different phases
• To produce high quality and well tested code on a touch based tablet designed by Intel’s Moorstown MID platform which is running on MeeGo Operating System..
• Open to raise software architectural/design issues from a deeper understanding of software design, data-structures and algorithms
• To write test procedures, and test/observe carefully/systematically during various test phases
• To create technical documents (e.g low level designs, test plans, test reports) that are concise, clear and well organized
Candidate profile required
Contributing primarily to more complex low level design, coding, testing, test procedures, integration, problem fixes, review of work which had done by peers and by SE's, test reports, and documentation. May also contribute high-level design of less complex pieces And also towards guiding less experienced SE's in their work
